Marta Grau Batlle

Marta Grau Batlle, M.A. is a Ph.D. student at the California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, where she is developing a more expansive understanding of trauma and suffering intertwining Western psychology and various spiritual traditions. She is an advocate of children’s rights and is particularly interested in children’s spirituality. She is currently working as a psychologist and mental health consultant in the Ravenswood City School District where she provides psychological support and counseling to individuals, groups, and families, as well as coordinates intervention strategies for the management of individual and school-wide crises.

Marta has more than 7 years of clinical experience with children and adolescents. She specializes in working with children victims of sexual and physical abuse, severe neglect, prostitution, drug abuse/traffic, social exclusion, attachment, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She has also worked with underprivileged and at-risk communities, such as inmigrants from countries in situations of military conflict and survivors of war, torture, political or gender persecution.
