Frank Echenhofer
Dr. Frank Echenhofer has been a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco since 1999. He teaches Existential and Humanistic Psychotherapy, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, and The Psychology of Religion and Spirituality. He conducted research examining EEG correlates of Tibetan Buddhist meditators in India with the Dalai Lama’s guidance in 1991. Since 2000 he has conducted EEG research in shamanic journey practices in the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon. His is currently studying creativity and sacred visionary and kinesthetic experiences and related iconography across spiritual traditions to develop ways to facilitate these experiences for healing, creativity, and spiritual development.
